Fun in the Summer Time

Today on Romance Weekly, we're talking about summer time.

Your favorite summer memory. When I was younger, every summer, my Dad and I would go camping with my Aunt, (his sister) and her family in their large motor home. We'd always travel westward, with our destination usually ending up in California. Along the way, we'd make really cool stops like the Flintstone Bedrock park in Arizona, or the grand canyon, on Tijuana. We'd take a different route back home to Chicago ensuring that we hit different states and returning and stopping at what those states were famous for.

Because we traveled in the motor home, it was always comfortable traveling. My cousin and I would play games at the table or if a few cousins traveled with us, we'd play Chinese jump rope in the back of the RV. It was called Chinese Jump rope in the 70's but it sounds "wrong" today. It was a string of rubber bands tied together and made into a long rubber loop. It required at least 3 players (two to hold the ends splayed by their ankles and one to "Jump in, jump out, jump side to side, jump on, jump in, jump out" there is an entire song to the game and it was a great way to spend time while traveling.

We also did the mad lib puzzles and a ton of word search puzzles.

When we reached the destination for that day, we camped at KOA campgrounds (usually) where there was always a lot of fun things to do for kids. It was a blast.

My Dad would often drive the RV (or my Aunt) and my Uncle would motor the cb. I learned a lot of cb language during that time. I'm surprised that the language back then was kept fairly cleaned on the open airway.

Those were my favorite summer memories

What you enjoy the most about summer.

Air conditioning. Otherwise I don't like summer. I don't like mosquitoes, or ants or spiders.....Bah humbug to summer.

How the warm days and sunshine affect your writing habits.

One of the most important ways the warmer and sunny days affect my writing is that it gives me longer day light which make my days feel stretched out to get more writing in. There's nothing better than finding a comfy spot to sit, air conditioning set on low, and my computer on my lap. My kids are older now so they take care of themselves for the most part, leaving more time for me!

Thank you for taking time to visit me. Please hop over to my writing pal Elizabeth Janette to see how she answered these same questions
